Thanks MJ - but what do you think they're saying about # 8662? It's one of the ones that was just reclassified from a 5B to a 7A and I booked it for an August cruise. My TA confirmed that it only sleeps 3 so it's NOT a family stateroom so I'm not sure why they bothered mentioning this one?! Thoughts? I can't figure out what they're trying to say or why this one was even brought up.
![]() Now that some cabins have been reclassified as of this week I would think that could make them better deals (for example this #8662 appears to be similar to the 4 "secret verandah" ones on the Magic & Wonder - the obstruction looks to be very slight but that category is about $680 cheaper to book). Deck 8 ***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck *** Highly rated by our cruise experts! Deck 8 of the Disney Dream is very similar in design to Decks 6 and 7, but does offer standard and deluxe inside cabins. Because there are cabin decks above and beneath Deck 8, accommodations here tend to be quieter. Some of the best cabins on the Disney Dream are on Deck 8! •Forward on Deck 8 of the Disney Dream, Ocean View Staterooms 8000- 8008 and 8500- 8506 have a beautiful, picturesque view of the ocean from porthole windows. Of these, 8006 and 8504 are more spacious than average. •Deluxe Inside Staterooms 8643, 8679, and 8681are 35 sq. ft. larger than standard on Deck 8 of the Dream. •Deluxe Family Ocean View Staterooms (8010- 8020 and 8166- 8174 port side and 8508- 8518 and 8664- 8672 starboard) are quite spacious. As mentioned, family cabins are very popular given their attractive sleeping arrangements. They sell out very quickly, so it is best to book early to get a family cabin. •On Deck 8 of the Disney Dream, there are several staterooms with verandahs, including family verandah cabins port side (8022- 8164 & 8176- 8182) and starboard (8520- 8662 & 8674- 8680).Between the midship and aft elevators on Deck 8 of the Disney Dream, Deluxe Family Ocean View Staterooms with Verandahs (8086- 8146 port side and 8584- 8644 starboard) are the largest accommodations on this deck. Each has up to 299 sq. ft. including the veranda. Of these, 8090, 8092, 8588, and 8590 are even more spacious and wheelchair accessible. Family cabins with verandahs are highly desirable, so it's important to reserve early on if this is your preference. •Aft on Deck 8 of the Dream, Ocean View Staterooms with Verandahs 8184 and 8682 are larger than standard and wheelchair accessible. •Verandah staterooms 8186, 8188, and 8684 also have magnificent (less breezy) aft ocean views!

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any mention of the huge verandah on 5650...

I can move from the deluxe family stateroom to the 7A room 8662 on the fantasy but DCL told me that it will only be 201 sq ft. as compared to my 8a not verandah that is 241. I felt the extra space in room is better but this looks like it says 299 sq ft. I am so confused!

Well guys, this has me scared now. We're in cabin 5154 on the Fantasy next year and have a 7 and 9 year old. Based on this information, should we switch cabins (ours has just been recategorized lower by DCL) based upon the bars below or should we not worry. Anyone been in this cabin or a nearby one on the Dream?

I just threw it out there as I thought it was an interesting resource.
Your mileage may vary of course!!! I would not take what is at that site as gospel truth....do your own further research to find which cabin is best for you!!! Quote:

I really have a hard time believe some of this. I was on Deck 10, room 10638, in september, and I was told by some other cruises that the room I was going to be in was really loud and noisy. Well, I can honestly say NEVER heard a thing. Never heard Cabanas or the pool. Only noise - was the day we got on the ship when the luggage was being brought up but we were not in the room that long as we had the drill and sail away party. So I don't believe or read any more reviews regarding staterooms, room locations or restaurants.....well the set up in Cabanas I will agree with what others say, but that's another thread.
