Rainforest Room on Dream
Can you buy a day pass to use it (we're not planning on getting a treatment). How much is the cost and can you reserve it ahead of time or only on board? Thanks!

You can purchase a one day pass in advance or on the day that you wish to use it--the price is the same either way. On line, it looks $1 cheaper, and then they add a $1 handling charge (go figure). The price was $16 per day...could have increased.
Multi-day and couples passes are only sold on board. Do not believe the stuff about how they only sell so many passes--this is a sales pitch. I have never been denied the ability to purchase a pass on any ship at any time. |

We pre-purchased a couple day passes on our last Dream cruise in Nov, and they gave us a card in our room to turn in for our passes. You buy them on DCL's site in the section where you can buy gifts, decoration for your cruise.
The rainforest room is awesome! It is an area in the spa where you can go with multiple unique shower experiences (different scents, cold/hot water, mist/hard spray), also multiple types of steam/sauna rooms, 2 small 2-person hot tubs on a private verandah, and these amazing heated tile loungers. We tried it out for one day our last trip and never again... from now on it is a MUST for our entire cruise. I was more relaxed from my day in the rainforest than I was after my massage at the spa. Gotta check it out!

Not to change this thread but other questions about the rainforest room? Does anyone know if a couples pass or multi-day pass is cheaper? I bought two day passes for me and my boyfriend when we were on the dream in March, but I just bought them the day of.
Also, I dont know if anyone else had this experience but all of the showers were very cold and we could not use any of them (I like hot showers). Also, one day we were there both hot tubs were also cold and took a long time trying to heat up but never really did. We still enjoyed the room and having it to ourselves or only a few other people sometimes. I hope they limit passes because of this because it really is not meant for a ton of people and crowds would ruin it. |

I would like to know more info about this area...is it co-ed? Do you wear your bathing suits or something? Please explain! It sounds like it might be a nice place to get away while our kids are exploring the kids clubs....

sshhhhhhhhh, its a secret place. its horrible, no one should go there ever. nasty dirty place.......
think this will keep the crowds away??? lol. it is by far the best experience i have ever had and i totally agree that it is nicer than the massage. my one question is about the 2 person tubs. isn't this a different area used only with other treatments? i haven't been on the dream yet so they may have them, would love to know. tia. |

To answer a few questions...the rainforest room is a wonderfully relaxing area in the spa...it is co-ed and it is not private...you will be provided spa robes and people wear bathing suits underneath...it is meant to be peaceful...basically it offers a dry sauna with a seaview, a steam room, four two people showers (various temperatures and settings like "rain forest", "arctic mist", etc.), optional add-on shower-gels, 8 heated tiled loungers with reading lights and sea views and two two-person spas with open air sea views. After 13 DCL cruises, my husband and I tried the Rainforest room for the first time on the Dream in December. It won't be our last!

Here is another vote for the RR! Awesome and relaxing. Even my DH loved it, not the spa type.

Gotta go to the locker room for one of those or go hop in the hot tub. Yes, it's co-ed in every area but the locker rooms of course. They provide a robe and slippers to wear, so you all wear swimwear with the robe.

How do you pre-purchase the passes on line?
I tried to book the rain forest passes today and I can't find the spot to do it. It doesn't seem to be in the spa area. Can you pre-purcase a couples multi-day pass? I'd rather not have to do it on board. Thanks!

You cannot pre-purchase the multi day or couple passes. These are sold only on the ship. Only the single day can be purchased in advance and there is no savings to doing so.
On day 1 if you tour the spa they will tell you about how they only sell a certain number of multi-day, etc. That may be so, but I've never been denied a purchase! |

Can you purchase several one day passes?
I just found the spot on line under shopping where they list that a one day pass is $16/pp. So I'm thinking for our 3 day cruise, that would be $32 a day for DH and myself. I was thinking that there wouldn't be much of a savings on board--it would only be $96 for the 2 of us for the cruise and I'd rather do it before getting on--can I buy 6 passes but use them on different days?

the rainforest is co-ed?
too bad... i would have lived in there otherwise. i really can't understand the co-ed thing. the spas i've been to (e.g. canyon ranch in arizona), this sort of thing is most definitely not coed. really too bad....i guess i can cross the rainforest off my list...
