The deck 6 cat 8A are missing alot of storage, no upper over the desk, one of the rooms has only three closet sections instead of 4. I don't know how 4 people are suppose to "live" in these rooms. Perhaps DCL might have to bring over some steamer trunks to add in storage.

Actually they were a FE gift on one of my cruises (I cannot remember which one - will have to go back to my cruise meets and ask) and I take them with me every cruise now! I love them. they are made out of fun foam.

I have two deck plans.....the first shows handi for 4 rooms (6012, 6014, 6510, 6512) leaving only 6016 and 6514 as standard room (on deck 6).......while the second deck plans show only 1 handi room 6014 on deck 6.
But your pics clearly show 6510 as handi, which was on the older deck plans, unless they've got an 3rd version out now?

6510 was a handicap - not sure if it is listed as such with DCL but I can tell you it had key reader lower on side of door, hanging rods that could be lowered and a bathroom with a ramp up to it (we had to step up in 6514) and the large bathroom with no tub, just a roll in shower. The bathroom was large and had lower hanging hooks BUT no shelves in it for anything

I'm booked on the Fantasy for May 2012 (7 night eastern) in room 6016 (8A). When I changed to that room from 6514 (8C) a month ago, that was based on the 5520/5522 8A pics on Deck 5 that shows the split-room design with the dividing wall. Now since we have your pics of 6514 (non-handi), we can assume that all of them on Deck 6 are open-rooms without the dividing wall, and the non-handi rooms have the support beam in the middle.

on the dream 6514 is a 8a and I went over and also looked at 6016 and it is exactly like 6514 - no wall in either and both are not handicap rooms

I'm not sure if I like this layout of room 6514, compared to 5520/5522 with the dividing wall. I take it 6514 did not had the 2-split bath? (The other people said the 5520/5522 only had 1 and showed in the pics) Did 6514 have the round shower/tub or the regular rectangle shower/tub? Also, based on the location of the TV on the side wall next to the door in 6514, it doesn't look like you'd be able to view it much from the bed, since it would be blocked by a half-wall with the blue picture on it. The TV in room 6510 (handi) does seem more viewable from bed as there's nothing blocking it.

neither 6514, 6016 or 6510 had split baths - regular bathtub in 6514 and 6016 - no round tub - yes you can view the TV from the bed very well (except it is very far away and a small tv) in both rooms - it has a mount that will allow you to angle it

I'm not crazy about the desk being right in the middle of the two port holes (6510/6514) and blocking them some. Also, that desk isn't full-length like the ones in 5520/5522 and other cat-8 rooms, so I'm guessing it doesn't have has much storage space.
the desk really did not block too much - was a non-issue. Storage was only the middle drawer and 3 deep drawers. In 6514 while I did not have lots of drawer space, we did have cubbies in the 2 closets and I hung most of our clothes up - even things I did not normally hang - it was not a major deal - just adjusted my plans. I actually felt I had more useable storgage in my cat 8a than my one bedroom suite on the 2nd part of our cruise.

Thanks again for all the help!
So 6016 and 6514 on the Dream are twins, both have the support beam, and one bath with the standard shower (not round). So most likely the Fantasy will be the same way, unless they redesign some things. Since I doubt that would happen, and I'm booked on the Fantasy 6016 next year, I now pretty much see what the room will look like. Did you happen to take any pictures inside your bathroom in 6514? Just want to judge how big/small it may be. Also, would you book the 6514 8A again, or go with an 8B-8D that has the split bath with round shower?

The only Dis cruise I went on was back in 2007 for a 3-night. We had a mid-ship room with a balcony, which I only went out there for maybe 30 minutes the entire time. My problem with that room was that everything felt cramped together. I'm 6'4" and had almost no room in either part of the split-bath, and when using the shower I felt like I was in a small closet. That's why I was looking forward to the new round shower design, since it looks like it has more room. But I do like the "double-wide" rooms on the 8A. Just can't figure out 2 things...1)why the ones on deck 5 have the wall partition but the ones on deck 8 have the beam, and 2) why they didn't use the round shower or split-bath on any 8As.

Bump for more photos -- I just booked 6014 (HA) connecting to 6016. I was a little disappointed to find after some digging here that 6016 does not have the room divider like pictured on the DCL website for 08As. BUT it will be a fabulous, large room!

I would like to see photos of 6016, though.

We booked GTY in this category on the Fantasy in this category. Anxious to see what we get.

Would be really nice if the ones with the wall sleep 4. Has anyone tried to figure out if the rooms on the Fantasy will sleep the same number as on the Dream? What are the chances that they will change the room set ups?

Check MJ's link a few posts up for the thread that lists the rooms in this Cat. It will help you narrow down what you'll get. The rooms will the wall only sleep 3. Also remember that when you book a GTY cabin, DCL can always put you in a higher category as well.

We won't know about the Fantasy rooms until the preview cruises/maiden voyage, but I think that the rooms will be the same as on the Dream.

Today I received my TA invitation to tour the Fantasy before the MV. So I'll be investigating the 08A and 09D staterooms as much as I'm able. I will take lots of notes!
