new? pray tell. I've tried ginger & bonine, the only thing that works for me is the patch but I hate the common rebound side effect (after taking it off when cruise is over) of feeling woozy.

I went to target yesterday and found the sea bands and dramamine but couldn't find the "bonnie" or ginger candy or other products that everyone is recommending. Where can I get those?

Also what do you do for kids that feel sick? I have 3, 11 and 15 and want to be ready if they aren't feeling great.

My 11 and 14 year olds take the Bonine or Dramamine Less Drowsy every night at dinner. My 11 year old sometimes has to take a second Bonine...if the ship is rocking and rolling. As for your little one...I would ask the doctor.

You can usually find the Bonine at Target, Walmart, Walgreens. I even have been able to buy the Walmart generic brand of Bonine recently. The hard part sometimes is locating the seasick meds...they usually put them at the bottom of the shelf somewhere.

Enjoy your cruise!

Bonine is found over the counter at drugstore.

I buy ginger candy and pills at whole foods or any other natural food store. I believe amazon.com also carries them

I give my 8 year old ginger pills (you suck or chew on them) my five year old the ginger candy and some ginger ale.

Bonine is the same as Less Drowsy Dramamine; active ingredient is meclizine. They should be right together in the aisle. If not, ask the pharmacist. They can usually locate the medication in the department. If I recall correctly, Target also has a generic (Up and Up brand).

We've brought candied ginger (found at Penzey's Spices) as well.

Does anyone know if you can use Bonine and the patch at the same time or would mixing the two cause a bad reaction?

no, you cannot mix according to the insert in the Rx. when in doubt ask your dr or pharmacist. Also, advised not to use alcohol but i've never had a problem drinking responsibly, again, your mileage may vary.

That was my wife and I on the Dream in September. I actually left the dining room just after desert was served. We had to lie down for a little while and get some fresh air. I actually started to get a migrane the first night. No probelms after that first night though.
